Forza Week in Review 2-9-18
This week, we’re looking at the new events in Forza Motorsport 7, including Series 3 of Leagues, the new B-Class Breakout hopper, and more. We’re also celebrating the start of the Winter Olympics, Forza-style, and talking about a new way to get exclusive cars in Forza 7. Let’s get after it!
New February Driver Gear: Champions
The 2018 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremonies have begun in PyeongChang, South Korea. We’re celebrating the start of the Games with the launch of our new “Champions” Driver Gear suit, which we’re awarding to all players starting today. We’ll be showing off the suit in today’s episode of #ForzaFriday, our weekly livestreaming show on Mixer, then gifting the suit out after the show ends. Look for your suit under the Gifts tab in Message Center.
Forza Livery and Photo Contest Rewards Update
The Forza community is a wonderfully creative place, full of players who spend just as much (or more!) time creating masterpieces of photography and intricate liveries as they do racing in the game. To celebrate those creators, we’ve been running Forza livery and photo contests on the Forza Forums on a weekly basis for years.
Contest winners have received a nice credit gift for winning. Starting this week, we’re sweetening the pot. Players who win our creative weekly contests will now be able to pick from a huge list of exclusive cars as their reward, in addition to that credit gift. With these new rewards options, we’re looking to celebrate our best-known creators and discover the next generation of creative talent in the Forza community.
You can see the full rules for both our photo and livery contests in the Forza Forums, as well as the complete list of available cars. Make sure you read and adhere to those rules for your best chance to win. This is a fantastic opportunity for players to flex their creative muscles and get their hands on some truly desirable cars. Good luck to everyone!

My Tach Beats For You
Earlier this week we introduced a new take on Rivals events with our special event “My Tach Beats For You.” This event was Rivals with a twist – instead of trying to set your best single hot-lap, this event challenged players to set their best cumulative time across three laps. You needed speed and consistency to be successful. Due to some unexpected issues with the event we had to pull it down, however, we’re very excited about the potential for these kinds of multi-lap Rivals events, and we look forward to re-introducing them to the game in the future. Everyone who set at time in the “My Tach Beats For You” event will be receiving our “Be Mine” Driver Gear suit, shown below.
Specialty Dealer Voting
This week, fans had another chance to vote in vehicles into the Forza Motorsport 7 Specialty Dealer – two, in fact. As you’ll see if you visit the dealer, this week’s winners were the 2001 Audi RS 4 Avant and the 2000 Lotus 340R. Make sure to follow us on Twitter and look for our next Specialty Dealer poll this coming Monday (February 12) for a brand-new poll.
B-Class Breakout Hopper
Today we’ve introduced a new Breakout Hopper to our multiplayer events. Starting today, B-Class joins our roster of Breakout hoppers, alongside currently existing P-Class, R-Class, S-Class, A-Class, and B-Class. Personally speaking B-Class cars are a favorite – a nice balance of speed and control that suits my driving abilities just fine. Naturally, we’ll be spending some time in B-Class Breakout during today’s edition of #ForzaFriday.
Leagues – Series 3
Series 3 of this Leagues season begins tomorrow, featuring three new events to compete in, including a new simulation event starring Forza P1 Division cars that won’t be for the faint of heart. Take a look at the Series’ lineup:
Event 01 – Ghost – Hot Hatch Genesis Division
Event 02 – Simulation – Forza P1 Division
Event 03 – Spec Cosmetic – KTM X-Bow
Compete in any of these events and you’ll be eligible to earn the 2011 Volkswagen Scirocco R after the series has ended. And remember, we’ve got the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V Forza Edition coming to players who participate in any event of this League Season.

#Forzathon FH3 – Getting Spicy
Here’s a look at the next #Forzathon events in Forza Horizon 3:
Drifting into the ESDA
Finally this week, if you’re interested in Forza drifting, either as a competitor or a viewer, you need to know about the E-Sport Drifting Association, also known as the ESDA, a group that has dedicated themselves to the sport of drifting in Forza games. Forza Racing Championship viewers know the ESDA from their showcase appearance in last year’s Forza Racing Championship New York Invitational. If you’re looking to learn more about drifting and the ESDA, check out this profile of the group over at Drift Illustrated. Featuring comments from ESDA owners TUS Chunky and Initial Dai, this article talks about the past and future of this influential organization. Check it out!
That’s it for a busy week of Forza news. We’ll be back next Friday for another recap in the Week in Review. See you then!
