Forza Week in Review 2-2-18

Brian Ekberg
Friday, February 2, 2018

This week we’re tackling the heavy-hitting Ford Raptor Xbox One X Edition, looking at new events in Forza Motorsport 7, and getting you caught up on the latest #Forzathon news. Hop in the passenger seat and let’s take a spin in the Forza Week in Review!

Ford Raptor Xbox One X Edition

From the halls of SEMA to Xbox One consoles across the world, it’s been a long trip for the Ford F-150 Raptor Xbox One X Edition, which made its Forza Motorsport 7 debut this week. First debuted at the 2015 North American International Auto Show, the latest Ford F-150 Raptor first spent time in race trim – finishing third at the Baja 1000 – before gaining its custom upgrades and a super sweet ‘Project Scorpio’ livery in the game.

This was the same truck that delivered the first Xbox One X console to customers when the console launched last year and, as of this week, the Xbox One X Edition Ford Raptor is a part of Forza Motorsport 7. Delivered as a free gift to all players earlier in the week (check your Forza 7 Message Center under the “Gifts” tab if you haven’t yet downloaded yours), the Raptor is ready for action. If you’re looking for a place to check out what the Raptor can do, head to the “Featured Events” channel in Rivals and look for the “Delivering the Sting” event, featuring the Raptor on Dubai Mountain reverse circuit. As you’ll see below, that new Rivals is just one of several new events hitting Forza 7 this week.

February Update Coming Soon

Now that February is here, I wanted to give a heads up for Forza fans looking forward to the next update in the game. As we mentioned in our Ford Raptor Xbox One X Edition announce, our February content update will be released on Monday, February 19, and will feature the latest car pack for Forza 7, as well as the latest game updates. Look for more details in the near future.

New Forza 7 Events

This week we introduced a number of new Rivals and Hopper events to the game. Take a look:

Precision Engineering (VIP only) – Throw down your best lap in the 2014 BMW M4 Coupe Forza Edition around the Nürburgring GP Circuit.

February Competitive Driver Training – Push yourself on the streets of Rio in an Elite Factory Racer with no assists or suggested line. Normal steering and shifting.

Ghosted Track Toys – Grab your favorite homologated Track Toy and get ready for full tilt ghost racing.

Cycled Divisions – A Forza 7 twist on the old Cycled Production concept, here drivers cycle through multiple homologated divisions on tracks from all over the world.

After a week of fun in Classic Street Muscle and Prototype Group Racing, our “A Lovely League” Season now enters into Series 2, which kicks off tomorrow. We’ve got three new events coming up:

Event 01 – Ghost – The Birth of Grand Prix

Event 02 – Simulation – Sport Compact Icons

Event 03 – Spec Sim – 1953 Chevrolet Corvette (stock)

Players who participate in Series 2 will win the Carnival Driver Gear suit. And don’t forget the Season-ending reward, the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V Forza Edition.

Specialty Dealer

This past Monday, we ran our first Specialty Dealer poll on Twitter, giving Forza fans a chance to vote on which car they would like to see added to the Specialty Dealer. The winner was the 2012 Pagani Huayra, which is now available for purchase in Specialty Dealer. We’ll be running another Specialty Dealer poll this coming Monday – and, this time, the top two cars in votes will be added in. Make sure to follow us on Twitter @ForzaMotorsport to let your vote be heard!

Forza 7 #Forzathon Update

Last week we added three new #Forzathon events to Forza Motorsport 7. Since the launch of these events we have been investigating an issue where some players were not able to see the full list of new #Forzathon events. We have since identified the root cause of this issue and will be issuing a fix in our February update. After this issue is corrected, we’ll be extending current and adding new #Forzathon events to the game. Until that time, we will be leaving the current #Forzathon events in place. We apologize to those players who are currently unable to see the full list of events. Look for more information on our #Forzathon plans in Forza Motorsport 7 in the near future.
