Forza Week in Review 11-8-19
Today, we’re saying goodbye to the regular season of the Forza Racing Championship 2019 Invitational Series and anticipating the start of the series finals in just two weeks’ time! We’ve also got an announcement on our special partner for the finals, a look at the new season in Forza Horizon 4, and more. Welcome to the Forza Week in Review!
Bring on the ForzaRC Finals
Last weekend, we wrapped up the ForzaRC Invitational Series regular season with a pair of matches that had major consequences for the upcoming Finals. Powerhouse teams like Lazarus, TX3 and Red Bull Racing went head-to-head in a battle to determine who (if anyone) could topple Williams Esports from the overall top seed. As it turns out, those three teams (alongside underdog Mordor Game Club) traded punches across three thrilling races, with none of the trio able to overtake Williams on overall points.
As you can see above, with drop rounds accounted for, there’s just a 20-point difference between Williams at the top of the order and Red Bull Racing in third place, with Lazarus sitting in the second-place spot. That means Red Bull and Lazarus will clash in the semi-finals, alongside TX3 and FRF. Meanwhile, Williams will be facing the likes of JOTA eSport, Sauber Esports, and Team Highlands Racing, the latter of which dominated Saturday’s Last Chance Qualifier to earn the eighth spot in the finals. The top two teams out of each semi-final round will earn the chance to move on to Sunday’s races as the final four battle it out to be the top team of the 2019 season.
The 2019 Forza Racing Championship Invitational Series Finals will be broadcast in just two weeks with all competing drivers in attendance in Los Angeles, CA to compete face-to-face for their team’s share of the $250,000 prize pool. Two days of intense racing amongst the best racers in the world. What more could you ask for? Well, now that you’re asking for things, how about an incredible ForzaRC finals partner?
Lamborghini + ForzaRC
As we unveiled today on #ForzaFriday, we’re pleased to announce that Automobili Lamborghini will be our partner for the ForzaRC Finals. As a part of the finals, Lamborghini will bring some incredible features to our broadcast including a featured car on the ForzaRC stage (can you guess what it is?), and a special guest appearance.
In addition to Lamborghini’s on-stage presence, they will also play a major part in the racing action during the finals. Stay tuned for the latest on car divisions coming soon!
We cannot wait for all the action to go down on the ForzaRC stage on November 23-24. You can tune in and see all the action on Mixer, Twitch, Facebook and YouTube. Be sure to follow the ForzaRC on Twitter for all the latest updates on the season.
Winter in Forza Horizon 4
Bust out the leather & wool RAF flight jackets, Forza Horizon 4 players, because winter has arrived in Britain! The winter season is bringing more than just snowy roads and the occasional stretch of black ice; there are new events and new cars to collect as well. One of the highlight offers this week is the 2010 BMW M3 GTS, a powerful luxury car that’s making its return to the Forza Horizon series (it was last seen in the original Forza Horizon). Want to own this classic BMW for yourself? Beat the “Power Struggle” Season event against Highly Skilled Drivatars to do so!
It’s not just the BMW up for grabs – winter is also bringing a chance to win the Peugeot 205 Forza Edition, the Mini John Cooper Works Buggy, and the 2004 Subaru WRX. Finally, the Season Completion cars for winter are the TVR Tuscan (50 percent season completion) and the Koenigsegg CCX (80 percent season competition), alongside the Series competition reward cars the 2017 Aston Martin Vanquish (50 percent competition) and the Porsche 718 GTS (80 percent completion). Good luck and happy (snow)sliding!
#WheelandPedalThursday - DirtFish Rally Driver Michelle Miller
We are very lucky in the Seattle area to have the DirtFish rally school so accessible. This week, on a slightly delayed (Thursday) edition of Wheel and Pedal Wednesday, Johniwanna spoke with DirtFish Senior Instructor Michelle Miller and got a good look at one of the DirtFish RWD instructor cars, the Subaru BRZ.
Miller is a three-time SCCA Autocross champion and has driven and co-driven on the American rally circuit. During the show, she spoke of her own unique cars: a Porsche Cayenne Transyberia and a forgotten hot hatch, the Mitsubishi Mirage. She also gave insight into the intricacies of co-driving ,as well as her own successes behind the wheel. Her love of driving inspires others and she loves every day on the job.
If you missed it live, check out the replay on Mixer to see more of Michelle’s story.
Thanks for reading another edition of the Forza Week in Review. We’ll be back on November 22nd with a wrap-up of the November edition of “Forza Monthly” as well as a preview of the ForzaRC Finals action. See you then!
