Forza Week in Review 1-5-18
Welcome to the first Forza Week in Review of 2018! We’re glad to be back after a couple of weeks of rest and relaxation with our friends and families and now it’s time to dive headfirst into the new year and all the great Forza fun that is ahead. Today’s edition will be a bit shorter than usual as Yours Truly has been out sick all week. I’m happy to report that I’m feeling better, but not good enough to come into the office, so that means no #ForzaFriday livestream show today. Instead, we’ll have our first edition of the show next Friday.
Let’s jump in!
Gifts Are Here!
The post-holiday gifts are flying this week. With the end of Phil Spencer’s reign as our December Bounty Hunter target, this week we sent out the two reward cars for participants. Everyone who set a time in the event (which closed earlier this week), received the Porsche RSR race car. Those who bested Phil’s time received the Ferrari 599 GTO, the car that won in a landslide in our December reward car Twitter poll. In case you’re curious, yes, we are going to have a Bounty Hunter event in January, and yes we’ll be doing another Twitter reward car poll. Look for those details soon.
In addition to the cars, we also sent out the Halo Master Chief and Olympia Vale suits to eligible winners this week. I’m looking forward to seeing the winners rocking their Halo-inspired duds starting this weekend in the game!
#Forzathon – Spend Money to Make Money
We’ve got some fun #Forzathon events happening in both Forza Horizon 3 and Forza Motorsport 7 this week. Personally I had a great time pretending I was Ayrton Senna destroying Suzuka in the 1992 Honda NSX-R (though, unlike Senna, I wasn’t wearing white socks and dress shoes, mind you!) Even better was taking home the Ferrari F12berlinetta for finishing the Forza World Tour #1 event.
Over in Forza Horizon 3, we’ve got a #Forzathon event live now that’s more about your ability to wheel & deal than it is about your skill behind the wheel. Check it out:
For those wondering, there will be a car pack this month for Forza Motorsport 7. The next update for the game, which will include that pack, will be released on January 16. Look for our traditional clue thread in the Forza Forums next week.
One final note before I sign out for the week: Thanks to everyone who turned out for our annual New Year’s Eve livestream. We had our strongest turnout to date and it was a great time, including an epically long Random Ring Race in the Cadillac Limo (which just makes sense, for New Year’s, right?) Yes, we had a New Year’s Driver Gear suit up for grabs, which was sent out earlier in the week – congratulations to everyone who got one. Here’s hoping your 2018 is a fantastic one!
