Welcome to another edition of the Forza Week in Review. This week didn’t just see the full worldwide launch of Forza Motorsport 7, it also saw some important announcements and updates that are a direct result of feedback from the Forza Community.

On Thursday evening, we published a Letter to the Forza Community from our Studio Head Alan Hartman. The letter addresses some pointed feedback around two key aspects with Forza Motorsport 7 – VIP membership and PC performance and stability. With VIP, Alan talked about our plans for changing the VIP system in Forza Motorsport 7, as well as gifting out a bonus gift of cars and credits as a heartfelt thank to you to all Forza VIPs. If you’re a Forza fan, you need to read this straight away.

As Alan mentions in his letter, this week we also released the first update for Forza Motorsport 7. This update addresses a number of stability-related issues on PC as well as some general improvements:

- Fixed numerous livery-related issues, including some liveries applying as paint colors only, liveries not appearing in multiplayer, and game lock-ups when cancelling liveries
- Fixed an issue where vinyls would not appear in the vinyl editor for players who were creating vinyl groups with HDR enabled
- Arabic text is no longer reversed in game menus
- Default profile slider settings for wheel users are no longer maxed out
- Benchmark mode on PC now displays the correct minimum FPS
- Framerate now improved in loading with G-Sync enabled

The team here at Turn 10 is dedicated to making the Forza Motorsport 7 experience on Windows 10 great. You can keep up to date on Release Notes for all of our ongoing updates in our dedicated thread. Look for news on our next update as soon as its available.

Josef Newgarden Bounty Hunter

Think you’re faster than the 2017 IndyCar champion, Josef Newgarden? Now you can prove it with our inaugural Forza Motorsport 7 Bounty Hunter event, live now in the game. As we announced last weekend during our livestream debut, Josef will be setting times in this event and taking on the Forza community in the process. We’ve got a couple of important updates to the event that I wanted to make you aware of. First, please take note of Josef’s correct Gamertag; it’s JNRACERTPX2 (yes, it was announced incorrectly during the live show). Be sure to add Josef to your Xbox Live friends’ list so you can take on his time. Secondly, as of today Josef has posted his first lap time in the event, a sterling 1:47.530 as of this publishing. (For those keeping score, that’s two-tenths faster than me! Grr…)

Finally, let’s talk prizes. For this Bounty Hunter, we’ve got two very special reward cars on tap. For everyone who sets a time in the event, we’ll be sending the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro Super Sport. All players who beat Josef’s final time will receive the 1977 Holden Torana A9X Forza Edition. That’s two cars that aren’t currently available anywhere else in Forza Motorsport 7. So what are you waiting for? Get to hot-lapping!

Forza Horizon 3 Update

Earlier today we released an update for Forza Horizon 3, addressing a few recurring issues in the game:

- Fixed rare issue where some players were getting stuck on a screen asking the player to select a new festival
- Fixed blank “Custom Restrictions” flyer in Car Restriction select

For the full list of Forza Horizon 3 updates since launch, check out our thread in the FH3 Support Forums.

Forza Motorsport 5 Status

As of September 30, Forza Motorsport 5 on Xbox One reached “End of Life” status. That means that the game and its associated DLC are no longer available for purchase. Players who own Forza Motorsport 5 before that date are still able to download and play the game and its associated content as normal.

If you know Forza Motorsport, you know the Gamertag Raceboy77. He has been a top driver for years and has got skills and techniques that he has always been willing to share to help others race faster. Recently, the folks at Red Bull worked with the kitty-loving Canadian to get some racing tips.

Josh Robinson Ute Livery Contest

Now that Forza Motorspot 7 is actually out you can get to work on your designs for Formula Drift driver Josh Robinson’s 1000-horsepower Holden Ute. He has asked the Forza community to come up with livery options for his 2018 FD season and the winning design will be debuted at SEMA this year.

See the thread Robinson started in the Forza forums for details and timelines.

Heavy Metal Affliction – 1965 Volkswagen Racing Beetle

Community writer Johniwanna met Steven Smith at a local vintage racing event this summer and was drawn to his 1965 VW racing Beetle. Turns out the car has an incredible history and has been a race car since it left the showroom. This story of the little race car from the 1960s is one you don’t want to miss.

#Forzathon – Speed is Key

A new week, a new #Forzathon now active in Forza Horizon 3. The theme for this weekend’s events is “Speed is Key” and, as you might, guess is all about pure power. Check it out:

Next week promises to be another fun one in Forza Motorsport 7, as we’ll be releasing a collection of new Hopper and Rivals events into the game. Look for all the details in next Friday’s edition of the Week in Review!
