In this week’s edition of the Forza Week in Review, we’ve got the announcement of the 2019 ForzaRC season, the surprise news that more Forza Motorsport 7 hoppers will soon be Forza Race Regulations-enabled, plus a look at the Porsche-heavy Series 13 update for Forza Horizon 4, and our second Forza Monthly episode of August. Let’s go!

ForzaRC Announcement

ForzaRC Teams, start your engines. The Forza Racing Championship is returning in 2019 and it all begins in just a few short weeks with the the ForzaRC Invitational Series 2019. For the first time in ForzaRC history, 13 teams will compete for a prize pool of $250,000. The 2019 season will be broadcast weekly starting on September 21. Seven weeks of intense competitions between the teams will culminate in the 2019 World Finals in Burbank, CA on November 23 – 24.

Another ForzaRC first: Team racing defines the ForzaRC in 2019. While teams have been a nominal part of competition in previous seasons, this time ForzaRC is defined from top to bottom by the three-driver, one-coach teams that will compete this season. How those teams work together – not just with each other, but with their coaches – is one of the new competitive twists that will surely make the 2019 ForzaRC season fascinating. In 2019, it’s not just how fast you drive, but also how well you work with your teammates.

While teams are the bedrock of this season, the invitational format also makes way for new racing formats that will be announced soon. This season, viewers will see race types they’ve never seen before in the ForzaRC, all designed to test each team to their limit. Best of all, you’ll have a ringside seat each Saturday to watch ForzaRC history in the making. It all begins on September 21, so don’t miss it!

Forza Horizon 4 – Series 13

The Series 13 update for Forza Horizon 4 is here, and with it comes a boatload of Porsche automobiles. The lineup begins in the early 1950s in the form of the 1951 Porsche #46 356 SL Gmünd Coupe and continues through the decades with famous race cars of the 60s and 70s, all the way to the 2018 Cayman GTS and the 2019 Porsche Macan Turbo. In short, the latest update is brimming with a plethora of fine German automotive choices for you to enjoy.

Forza Monthly | August 27th

Our second episode of “Forza Monthly” in the month of August aired earlier this week. If you missed it live, check out the replay here:

On the show we covered the Forza Horizon 4 Series 13 update – with a focus on the Porsche models coming to the game – with Jon Knoles. Then we dove deep into the upcoming 2019 Forza Racing Championship season, discussing the news with Turn 10’s Wes Eckhart and Elliott Lyons (starting at the 12:26 mark of the show), followed by a look ahead to the season of competition with the voice of the ForzaRC, Alie Tacq (look for the conversation at the 22:30 mark).

In the final segment of the show, we took questions from community members about different aspects of the Forza universe. Turn 10’s Chris Esaki talked more about the “Built, Not Bought” big idea for the next Forza game, Jon Knoles discussed future DLC in Forza Horizon 4, and Elliott Lyons talked about how the ForzaRC will be dealing with teams in the upcoming season.

Of note, Chris Esaki also mentioned that the Turn 10 team will be enabling Forza Race Regulations rules to two existing multiplayer hoppers (A Class and S Class) in the coming weeks. Look for that conversation at the 31:40 mark above. The updated hoppers in Forza Motorsport 7 will arrive in the next few weeks; stay tuned to Forza social channels for the latest.

Tune in to #ForzaFriday today where I’ll be spending a couple of hours with you all playing Forza Horizon 4 and Forza Motorsport 7.
