We’ve all been there: You’re at home on a weekend, watching an American Le Mans Series race on the television. You stare at the ALMS drivers turning laps in some of the world’s most powerful cars and you think to yourself, “I can do that.” You grab your Xbox 360 controller, pop in your copy of Forza Motorsport 4, and begin showing those pros how it’s done. If this sounds like you, then we’ve got a new event that’s right up your alley: the Forza Motorsport ALMS Challenge.

Beginning this week, the Forza Motorsport ALMS Challenge is a season-long series of Rivals Mode-based racing events in Forza Motorsport 4 based on the race events found on the 2013 ALMS calendar. With each race on the ALMS season, we’ll begin a new Rivals Mode event in Forza Motorsport 4. Players will be driving the awesome ALMS cars featured in Forza Motorsport 4 and, whenever possible, the events will take place on the same track that is featured in the real-world race. Each month, the top 500 players from each event will earn championship series points; the player with the most series points at the end of the season will be awarded an Forza Motorsport ALMS Challenge trophy, the same trophy won by the ALMS series champions at the season-ending Petit Le Mans race.

The first round of the Forza Motorsport ALMS Challenge begins on Saturday, March 16 – coinciding with the opening race of the 2013 ALMS Season, the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. The series will kick off with an event at Sebring International Raceway starring the 2013 #93 SRT Motorsport GTS-R. This formidable Class R3 beast is available as part of the September Pennzoil Pack for Forza Motorsport 4 and will prove to be a slippery test for all players.

The next event in the Forza Motorsport ALMS Challenge will begin on April 1 and be based around the Tequila Patron American Le Mans Series at Long Beach race. Stay tuned to for details on which car and track pairing we’ll be running for that event. See below for more details on how to get involved with the Forza Motorsport ALMS Challenge:

Forza Motorsport ALMS Challenge FAQ

What is the Forza Motorsport ALMS Challenge?

The Forza Motorsport ALMS Challenge is a season-long race series in Forza Motorsport 4 that ties closely to the 2013 ALMS season. For each race on the 2013 ALMS schedule, we’ll put up brand new Rivals event, using an ALMS car found in Forza Motorsport 4 (available either on disc or via DLC) and, wherever possible, the same track being raced in the real event. For ALMS events that feature race tracks not found in Forza Motorsport 4, we will use an alternate track.

After each event, the top 500 players will be awarded points (500 points for first place, 499 points for second place, and so on). The player with the most points at the end of the Forza Motorsport ALMS Challenge will be awarded a trophy. After each event, all participants will earn a car with a custom ALMS Challenge livery.

What car and track will we be driving in March?

Date: March 16 – March 31

Car: 2013 #93 SRT Motorsport GTS-R

Track: Sebring International Raceway
