Hello and welcome to this edition of our weekly pitpass report, the Friday night editorial that exposes the latest happenings here at Turn 10--while simultaneously brining you the hottest news, events and content from our everlasting community. The sounds of frantic commotion echo throughout the studio hallways on this Friday afternoon as we prepare to shift our base of operations to a brand new space. Everything is packed and ready to go, except for the very computer on which I publish this report, and while it is the last thing to be shut down, packed up and shipped out, I have a very limited window of opportunity so let’s make it snappy.
As you may remember we have been planning this much anticipated studio move for quite some time, and our last day here at the birthplace of Forza is finally upon us. Of course the studio has grown tremendously over the past few months in preparation for our next big project, and our call for a much larger, dedicated studio space has been answered.
A mountain of boxes jam packed with Forza 2 “Fuel You Fantasy!” license plate frames keep me nicely boxed in, while the automotive artwork is stripped down from the walls in our team space. Moving all of our equipment and paraphernalia to our new crib has been quite the production to say the least, however within no time we will be back in full effect, doing what we do best. On a similar note the folks over on the subject matter expert team have been unable to put together a car of the week article recently, simply because they too are busy doing what they do best…tracking down a wide variety of vehicles. Of course we are planning to keep the tradition alive once we settle in to our new home, so you can expect to see these weekly blogs popping up more regularly within the next few weeks.

Everything in our team space is labelled and ready to be sent off to our new digs. Of course we can't leave the triple screen bohemoth behind.
Recently we have also been receiving multiple reports of fake Turn 10 representatives approaching tuners and painters, asking for free cars for a variety of plausible reasons. I won’t spend much time on this, but the moral of the story is…unless the message is from “Che Team Forza”, “BLKJ SIDEFX”, or “phREDESIGN”, then it is not a Turn 10 representative, and you shouldn’t send them your prize possessions. Cool?
In the name of spreading the Forza 2 love far and wide, the community team here at Turn 10 has also spent some time creating and uploading content to pages on both Facebook and YouTube. These pages will be used in tandem with articles found right here on Forzamotorsport.net, to call out cool community content. Essentially we will be highlighting the cool stuff you post over there…right here (and vise versa). The Turn 10 Facebook group will be used above all for general gaming banter and antics, however we have also created personal galleries of our favorite community generated content. In addition to these special galleries we welcome everyone to stop by and upload your own personal favorites to the general group gallery. This page will be regularly updated with new stuff so stop by and drop us a line!

At the very peak of the mountain of boxes lies this one, filled with 200 license plate frames ready to Fuel your Fantasy. Want one for your daily driver? Shoot us an e-mail with your info and we will send some out...as long as you post pictures here.
Of course the Turn 10 Studios YouTube page will be used to show off the best community videos that we can find (CRWC?), as well as some of our personal automotive favorites. We will be featuring the best Forza 2 videos on our video log, playlists and favorites, so if you have a video on YouTube already--or if you are planning to upload one soon, shoot us an e-mail (forzafb@microsoft.com) with the link so we can add your video into the mix. As always the content you share over there will also be shown off here, so get ta’ uploadin’!
Last Friday we officially announced the winner of the Takata Time Attack livery design contest, where one custom design will be taken from the virtual world of Forza 2 and applied to a car in real life. The idea of using the detailed livery editor in Forza 2 to design a competitive race car in real life is actually quite remarkable, and something we are very proud of here at Turn 10. As a result we have put together a follow up article to dive a bit deeper into this phenomenon, and find out just how this car is going to be transformed from a virtual design to a car in reality. You can check out the full article on the 2008 Takata Time Attack Subaru STi (designed by Andre “dRiZze” Guerrieri) here, and learn all the details about this innovative competition.

Of course we will be following the progress of this STi and its owner, James Elterman, as he works towards not only replicating Guerrieri’s custom design, but racing it in various Time Attack events across the nation. Major updates regarding Elterman’s progress in the 2008 season will be posted regularly on our blogs, so stay on the lookout for new articles and updates. In addition to everything else, Elterman has put together a build thread here, where he has been posting daily updates on the progress of the car. As you can imagine there is a lot of work to be done in order to get his ride ready for the season, and all of it has been documented in his thread. I urge everyone to take a look at his updates--it’s really interesting to see just how much effort is required to pull off a project of this magnitude.
Alright just a few more community related events to cover before my computer gets unplugged from the wall. First of all I want to remind anyone out there who is looking for a Turn 10 sponsorship to send us an e-mail (forzafb@microsoft.com) to verify your contest prizing. Fred and I have been working on putting together a sponsored competition list that will be updated regularly with all the current events. This will make it easier for us to keep track of everything, while allowing new users a chance to get involved. So send us an e-mail with all the details regarding your contest/event, and a breakdown of the prizing you need, and we will go from there. Once again serious inquiries only please as we will only be sponsoring competitions that are run correctly and efficiently.

And finally I want to mention a few cool threads that are dedicated to giving back to our community in celebration of Forza 2’s First Anniversary. The first giveaway is being hosted by I Parisse I and Duff Man D, who have teamed up to provide the community with a great looking car that drives like a dream. Duff Man’s winning submission to our First Anniversary livery contest has been tweaked by the folks over at Azzurri Tuning, who have publically posted all the details regarding their set-up. In addition to the free tune, the contest winning livery is available on the Auction House for a measly 10,000CR, so stop by the giveaway thread here and see if you can pick up this killer combination.
The second giveaway is being hosted by replica livery artist Viperlite, who has accurately reproduced the Aston Marton V8 Vantage that adorned the cover of the PAL version of Forza Motorsport 2. Using the DB9 as a platform, Viperlite has decided to give away unlocked versions of his livery in celebration of our First Anniversary. All you need to do is gift/sell a blank car that will be sold back to you with this free livery. Make sure to stop by this thread to find out exactly how you can get a hold of one for your collection.

And with that said it’s time to shut things down, pack up and call it a day. I hope you have enjoyed this afternoon edition of the weekly pitpass report. Next Friday we will be coming at you live from our brand new studio space, so check back next week for pictures and details. From all of us here at Turn 10, thanks for reading and enjoy the weekend.
Peace
Landin
