Welcome to the New FM.net
Forza Motorsport 4 has been officially unveiled to the world at the 2011 Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles. Now it’s time to officially welcome you to the next phase of the official Forza Web site.
As you can see, the new FM.net (our shorthand moniker for the site) has a brand new look and feel that is designed for maximum impact and legibility. Our goal with the site is to bring you inside the Forza Motorsport experience as much as possible. Over the coming weeks and months ahead, we’ll be introducing new features that will bring you more information on what to expect from Forza 4 and how you interact with the game.
Here’s a quick tour of the site as it exists today:
Home Page – If you’re a first-time visitor to the site, you probably saw that slick video that played when you logged in. Alert viewers will recognize that as our E3 trailer and, if you want to see it again you can check it out over on our Media Page. Elsewhere on the front page, you can see our top stories in the upper navigation of the page. Click the gray sub-heading to bring up a new story.
In the lower half of the front page, you’ll see our pre-order link which will take you directly to our pre-order page—where you can see all the various offers we’ll have from various retailers around the world (along with a breakdown of the different cars you’ll receive for each pre-order offer).
The news section below should be rather self-explanatory—that’s the latest news coming out of the Forza Motorsport world. Whether it’s our regular community updates like The Inside Line or the Week in Review, or special announcements regarding just announced features in the game, you’ll want to check back on the News section on a regular basis to find out everything that’s happening in the Forza Motorsport universe.
News – Which brings us, of course, to the news page. This is your all-in-one expanded look at all the news coming out of Turn 10 and Forza Motorsport. Clicking on a story’s headline or image will bring you the full story. Here you’ll be able to add your comments to a story and share news stories through social networking tools like Facebook and Twitter.
Media – Here’s your all-in-one repository for the latest and greatest Forza Motorsport screenshots, videos, and podcasts. Clicking on a screenshot will bring up individual galleries, where you can like or share screenshots on Twitter or Facebook. For galleries, you’ll be able to screen left and right to see all of the screenshots in a series. Clicking on videos will bring up the built-in video player for you to enjoy. Finally, the podcasts section will take you to the latest episode in our Pitpass podcast series.
Community – This is your connection to the Forza Motorsport community. Today, we’ve got descriptions of the many great community-focused features that will be such a huge part of Forza Motorsport 4 but you can expect this section to grow a great deal in the coming months and, especially, after Forza 4 launches in October. And, of course, you can find a link to our vibrant forums here to discuss the latest Forza news with the rest of the Forza faithful.
We hope you enjoy the new FM.net and we encourage you to come back and visit often over the coming months. We’ve got exciting content and features planned coming up which you won’t want to miss. In the meantime, if you’ve got comments about the site, feel free to hit us up on our official Facebook page or via our official Twitter account.
