It is with much excitement I bring this Week In Review to you filling in for our fearless leader Mechberg who is enjoying some well-deserved family time. You may remember he was blessed with a son only a couple months back. In his absence Forza Horizon has been blessed as well, receiving awards, feature articles, and big time nominations. So without giving it all away in the intro….on with the week in review!

Forza Horizon -- Behind the Scenes Episode 5

Check out the latest episode of Forza Horizon—Behind the Scenes. This one focuses on the community and what exciting new content lies ahead for the game.

Forza Horizon Jalopnik and Kotaku Top Story

Bill Caswell of Jalopnik wrote an extensive feature article on his impressions of Forza Horizon and an interview session with Turn 10’s Dan Greenawalt. The article ran concurrently on Kotaku. Caswell was invited to a Forza Horizon PR event at Bondurant School of High Performance Racing where he got a hands-on preview of the game before its release and had a chance to learn from the racing experts at Bondurant. Caswell, who competes in amateur rally events outside of his journalism work, opted out of the racing class to play Horizon as much as he could. While this does not speak to how incredible taking a Bondurant racing class is, it does speak volumes to how killer Forza Horizon is. I think this statement sums it up:

Forza Horizon Nominated for “Best Driving Game” at 2012 Video Game Awards

It’s no surprise but it is very exciting to announce Forza Horizon has been nominated for Best Driving Game of 2012. On December 7th, LIVE at 9p ET /6p PT from Los Angeles, SPIKE will once again celebrate the year's absolute best games and preview the most anticipated titles of 2013 and beyond at the Tenth Anniversary of the Video Game Awards.

You can cast your vote on the spike.com site.

Forza Motorsport TEC Audio Award Nomination

Forza Motorsport 4 has been nominated for a yet another award, adding to the highly respected list of awards it has already captured. This nomination for Creative Achievement in Audio comes from the global audio community represented by TEC (Technical Excellence and Creativity) Foundation.

The TEC awards cover all aspects of audio and music production, so this is a huge honor. Online voting among members of industry organizations will commence December 3. Awards will be presented at the 2013 NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) where rock icon Pete Townshend will be presented an award for his accomplishments in music along with other category winners.

Bounty Hunter Community Team Hunt

Your chance to lay down some hurt, in the form of your best lap times, on community team members Alex—GT ApexHunterT10 and Ian—GT HeliosT10 is coming next week.

Alex will be the bounty in Forza Horizon in the monthly rivals event “Parks and Recreation.” You will have from Sunday to Sunday to whoop on him. Look for his challenge and trash talk in the Community Events thread he will post on Sunday.

Ian is the bounty in Forza Motorsport 4 next week. The rivals mode he will be competing in will be announced in Monday’s Rear View Mirror article. Should he lose his side bet he will have to wear and be photographed in a NASCAR shirt. As you may not know Ian is in the U.K. where it is likely showing support for the American roundy round series will have him shunned. Look for his post in the Community Events thread soon as well.

Ian’s Photo Essay About Playground Games

Our EMEA Community manager Ian Webster has the honor of working out of Playground Games once a week. In doing so he was able to capture some cool photos of the studio. Right now the devs of Playground are busy working on the Forza Horizon Rally Expansion pack. I have had a chance to evaluate an unfinished version and I can say this, it adds a whole new element to the game and it is super cool!

BMW “Escape the Grid” Video Summary

One of the cars that competed in “Escape the Grid” was a brand new BMW M6. Driven by “Uke,” a gamer, and “Peter,” a BMW Driving Instructor. While they did not win the event as they hoped, this BMW produced video shows they definitely had a good time. But who couldn’t have fun driving a super car across Europe?

FYI About DLC November Bondurant Pack

When I write the descriptions for the monthly DLC packs I tend to come across many cool details about the cars. This inspired a further search for cool intel, videos and pictures of the monthly DLC cars. This month the November Bondurant Car Pack offers six awesome rides to add to your Forza Horizon garage. FYI about DLC gives you a bunch more fun reasons to appreciate the cars of the pack. You can also show off your November Bondurant Car Pack creations in the FAD thread. I have put out the call for more intel on these rides and will be gifting Forza Horizon unicorns to the five best bits of DLC details, and five more to the coolest pics, liveries and content created using the pack. Contest ends the morning of November 21.

Oh, and if you have been competing in the Bondurant Challenge check the standings here.

Thanks for reading and have a good weekend!
